Here Is Why You Are Limited In Health Insurance Choices

The portion of the public that wants the federal government to get involved with health care reform obviously does not realize that the problem with the health care system is that they are already involved.
To be a health insurance provider in the state of Wisconsin the provider must meet the mandates the state government has in place. Here is a list of those mandates.

The state of Wisconsin has a state run health insurance plan called Badger Care. The Core Plan had to quit taking on new applicants because it ran out of money......not self sustaining. This left 20,000 applicants on the waiting list - so what would a lame duck governor do when the state does not have the money for the existing state government run health care......why start a new state run government health care plan called Badger Care Basic. The funny part about this new plan is that the state will ease up on the mandates for the public sector but will not remove the mandates for private sector insurance. You guessed it people, the state will allow more competition to keep the cost down for their insurance plans but won't allow the rest of us the same luxury. Sounds a lot like what the U.S. Congress does for its members.

The government has made it very obvious that the parents of this country either cannot or should not be held responsible for educating their own children about anything. Here is yet another example of the government knowing more than you.
The Wisconsin lame duck governor has signed into law a piece of legislation taking one more parental responsibility off your hands - the sexual education of your children.
The state lawmakers worked in conjunction with the respected Planned Parenthood Organization to come up with the piece of legislation that Governor Doyle signed into law on Wednesday.
I hope you sensed the sarcasm on the above word respected in italics. Why don't we take
a closer look at the Planned Parenthood of WI.

Anchor Babies - H.R.1868 Birthright Citizenship Act of 2009

The term "anchor baby" has been in use since the 1965 immigration Act. The term refers to the baby being an anchor for the illegal alien mother and eventually a host of relatives to permanent U.S. residency.
The 14th Amendment was ratified in 1868 to protect the rights of native-born Black Americans
whose rights were being denied as recently freed slaves. It does not guarantee the U.S. citizenship of babies born to illegal aliens on U.S. soil. In fact, Senator Jacob Howard stated that [The 14th Amendment] will not, of course, include persons born in the United States who are foreigners, aliens, who belong to the families of ambassadors or foreign ministers accredited to the government of the United States, but will include every other class of persons.

So you may be asking yourself - who is benefiting from this misinterpretation of the 14th amendment? Let's look for the answer in the H.R. 1868 bill introduced by House Representative Nathan Deal. The bill spells out under what conditions a baby is considered a United States citizen at birth.
Nathan Deal is a House Republican and the bill is cosponsored by 90 fellow House representatives. 88 are Republican and 2 are Democrat.

Cybersecurity Bill S773 - Another Assault On Our Freedoms

The federal government has expanded its powers and size by preying on the fears of an uninformed public. To the horror of the federal government something has been happening for the last 2 years that obviously has them worried - we, the public, are becoming informed. We have been using the Internet to blog, research and communicate and now we are challenging them on almost every piece of legislation that is being introduced.

What does the government do with a threat? They work on a solution to eliminate or control the threat.

Some of you may be on top of this already because Senators Rockefeller and Snowe introduced this bill back in April of 2009. The bill gives the Secretary of Commerce the authority to work outside of the laws and regulations that protect our privacy. It also gives the president the authority to decide what is a cyber security threat and thus the power to shut down the Internet if he feels it is a threat to national security.

Texas And Virginia Fighting The EPA

Here we have another example of some states fed up with the Federal Government. It is not hard to see that both Virginia (coal production) and Texas (oil production) have a financial interest in stopping the EPA from ruling for bogus climate control regulations. The EPA gets their data from the United Nation's IPCC - which you would know from reading previous postings - is as corrupt as the day is long.
I don't want anyone to think that I am not for alternative energy sources but why not start with making the energy we have now better. Put money into getting cleaner and more efficiency out of the coal, oil and natural gas we use today.

Obama Underwrites Offshore Drilling............For Brazil

I have received at least 4 different emails on this subject so I figured I had better get something on the site about it. The 3 articles I reference below, in blue, are short so please take a look at all of them. The text below was taken straight from one of the emails I received.
Why would our president need to loan 2 billion taxpayer dollars to the 8Th largest company in the world? To find out the type of man "The One" is - all you need to do is follow the money.

Even though President Obama is against off shore drilling, for our country, he signed an executive order to loan 2 billion of our taxpayers dollars to a Brazilian oil exploration company (Petrobras, which is the 8Th largest company in the entire world) to drill for oil off the coast of Brazil!
The oil that comes from this operation is for the sole purpose and use of China and NOT THE USA! Now here's the real clincher...the Chinese government is under contract to purchase all the oil that this oil field will produce, which is hundreds of millions of barrels of oil. We have absolutely no gain from this transaction whatsoever!
Wait, it gets more interesting. Guess who is the largest individual stockholder of this Brazilian oil company and who would benefit most from this? It is American BILLIONAIRE, George Soros, who was one of President Obama's most generous financial supporter during his campaign.
If you are able to connect the dots and follow the money, you are probably as upset as I am. Not a word of this transaction was broadcast on any of the other news networks!

Is there a way back?

I like to poke fun at things. I like to compile funny and slanted one-liners like everyone else. We all like to give an impression of a given topic in a simple headline type fashion. No need to get into the ones and zeros of it all, leave that to the media. See there is another one. I wish the heading of this post was one of them.

We are on an unsustainable path.Government employees are seeing their incomes shoot up, they have no shortage of jobs or expansion. This congress is creating stimulus packages for them, trying to add health care to the mix. State and local governments are following the same path to get stimulus money. They know, as do we, that we the people will have to pick up the lions share of any given projects cost, and the initial money came from us too. We also have the burden of the ongoing costs to operate and maintain these endeavors. All of this financed by debt, the trillion dollar deficit kind, because we are out of money. Destruction is the only ending to this story.

We are killing our private sector and in doing so we are destroying our only hope of being able to provide these piles of money. Yes the piles that have already been spent, yes the piles we will need to sustain our current situation, and yes the piles we have promised to people in the future. Taxing the private sector job givers will only make it worse. Less employment less piles of money. Tax the private sector companies, more expensive goods, more sales tax, but less people can afford to buy, less piles of money. Destruction as the ending.

The way back is simple. We must cut spending far below our revenue intake, simple. You and I do it every day, for ourselves and for our employers. Or is it hard? Hard because those very cuts involve the government employees, the same ones that will have to propose and implement the cuts. Maybe I should have said impossible. Impossible because it involves the programs of entitlement and big government. The same folks who spent a whole year trying to add health care to be a government job will have to cut these programs. Simple for a private sector company to do. The government paints them to be the bad guy. The bad guy will last longer than the government. The government currently has the upper hand because it is out of control. Destruction is the ending.

Is there a way back, can we break this unsustainable path? We are here and it is now.  Is there a way back?

Toughest Sheriff in America in Trouble

America's toughest sheriff, Joe Arpaio, has himself in hot water over racial profiling. The sheriff has has been alleged to have destroyed documents that, according to prosecutors, could prove the sheriff's ordered raids and traffic stops are profiling Hispanics.
I am in no way condoning the sheriff's destruction of documents but I am 100% sure of the fact he is going to catch more illegal immigrants in the Arizona county of Maricopa by stopping Hispanics than he will by stopping pasty looking Caucasians with red hair.

This not wanting to hurt people's feelings crap has got to stop.

Does Government Have a Personal Stake in Toyota Recall?

We have all seen the recall process in potentially dangerous products but doesn't the government seem a little too passionate in going after Toyota?
Let us take a look at a few things we must not forget when we ask the above question.
The federal government has a large stake in the auto industry.
Toyota employs tens of thousands of non-union Americans.
The federal government handed the control of GM over to the UAW.
The federal government is a frequent bed partner of the national unions.

This administration has made sure they do not waste taking advantage of a crisis situation so with that in mind, could they have an ulterior motive to make the Toyota recall such a public panic? Could it be possible this is the next instance of slight of hand by this most transparent and ethical administration ever?

I wouldn't want to forget about the recall for the government's less known child - Chrysler.

Did you ever wonder whether the old adage "Buy American" has any meaning in the auto industry? You make the call on which auto company the American economy is better off supporting.

Things Just Keep Getting Better For WI Assembly Speaker Mike Sheridan

Reported in the Janesville Gazette today - Mike Sheridan is not living in the district he represents as state law requires. His wife is living in their district home and because of their pending divorce (you can read a little about that in a previous posting) he is now living in a home outside of his district. He says he does have plans to return to his district soon.
You would think that dating a lobbyist while you are married and living outside of your district would be enough for anyone but the assemblyman (obviously an over achiever) now needs to produce receipts for over $5000 in vaguely explained campaign travel expenses from 2009.

I don't know how you feel but I feel all fuzzy about this man in a leadership role.

Unemployment is almost back to 0%

Great news once again from our number crunchers. I am so glad that we can take data and at the end of the spreadsheet make everything better. They should add in all the people who are doing odd jobs around the house with their time off, the word "jobs" is right in there. Unexpected drop in unemployment as more people loose their jobs.

Welcome the R-word, or was it that it was an F-word-R-word combo? We have the A-word, the B-word, the C-word, the D-word...etc. There should be a dictionary of these so one knows how to communicate with the sensitive. Should we be able to reserve the right to speak to someone using the established words we choose to use? Or did I just offend someone? The FED will print some more and each of our loved ones owe $50,000 in the future anyway. Might as well make it an even 100k.

I had mixed emotions while watching this short clip. In my humble opinion, not only do Obama's comments take a shot at Vegas but he implies that in hard times we are not responsible enough to control ourselves from gambling our children's college fund away. Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Mike Sheridan Influenced by Lobbyist?

Speaker Mike Sheridan has recently come under scrutiny over his relationship with a registered lobbyist. Sheridan's support for a tough regulation bill on payday loan interest rates has softened in recent months and the public would like to know if it has anything to do with the fact that the lobbyist he dated works for the company that owns Cash & Go.
When first questioned about the relationship, in true politician fashion, he denied they were more than friends. Apparently, after giving it some thought over the weekend he decided to come clean and admit to dating Shanna Wycoff.
I feel that everyone has the right to keep their private life private but when you are a public servant and by all appearances there is a blatant conflict of interest some sort of recourse must be enacted.
Does anyone really believe this statement would fly for a conservative?

The Next Taxpayer Bailout - Federal Housing Administration

Since the Federal Housing Administration dug this hole by backing risky loans from suspect financial institutions.......I say bury them in it. I have no doubt that we will be told that they are too big or important to fail so the tax payers will foot the bill on this one too.
With any luck - "The One" will use some of that stimulus money to hire an undocumented worker to grease up the boot before they stick it to the taxpayers.
