Bill Would Require All S.D. Citizens To Buy A Gun

I have to start this out by saying that I have always loved the state of South Dakota from my years of hunting out there and this new bill only increases my affection.  Lawmakers introduced a bill that would require all residents of South Dakota (over the age of 21 and not a felon) to buy a gun.
They know that this bill will be defeated but they introduced it to show how government trying to force everyone to buy a gun is as unconstitutional as the healthcare law.

  1. I think everyone in America that can buy a gun should do so. Wouldn't that pop their corks? Whenever they do something stupid we should all buy another gun. It's something (They) don't want us to do so ditto!

  2. This is flawed, it needed to be a federal bill to make the point they are trying to make. States have more power and this may be constitutional in that State. Also with guns the Feds could mandate that all of us own a gun.

  3. If the Feds can mandate that all of us own a gun then they can mandate us all to own health insurance, right? I thought that was unconstitutional. If a gun is used to protect your life and so is insurance where's the difference?

  4. The point of this gun bill is to show the American public sheep that when the government is given the power to make us buy 1 thing - it only stands to reason that more things will follow.
Having a gun does not protect your life just as insurance does not protect your life. The reason that this gun bill is a joke is the same as why the healthcare takeover needs to be repealed - IT IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL FOR THE GOVERNMENT TO MAKE US BUY ANYTHING!!!!
