Poetry needs only inspiration

Fear and complexity persuades the busy
busy not thinking about what they believe
the media cannot be bothered to check
it's dancing with the stars season again
consensus follows, it follows the money
government research grants to all
but only to those with the same narrow end
libertarians, it’s agenda driven government again
to a point we all grasp the cycle here
albeit the model is simplistic but clear
how can a tree, not having a brain
take the C out of CO2 and leave oxygen
now THERE is a poison more deadly than carbon
and as elements go it's the third most abundant
but in comes the government, CO2's a pollutant
they must have a pretty intelligent staff
one there must know the atmosphere only has 0.038%
plus very important to people, fungus and grass
let's regulate it and we'll call it green
suppose we can make money out of all the dead trees

when our plumbing is clogged we pour in some stuff
when our air is smelly we spray out some stuff
to get anything clean you must use the stuff
but all of this stuff is the beautiful stuff
it's all a bit much
