Solar Cell Maker SpectraWatt Plans Shutdown

In what is being called a shocking development the taxpayer funded SpectraWatt Inc is closing its plant and letting 117 employees go.  I wonder if the reason this news is so shocking is because solar power depends on government subsidies to grow until the cost of its electricity is competitive with fossil fuel generated power and when does the government ever quit throwing money at something?
Maybe the reason this is shocking to people is because a reason given for the shutdown is the harsh wEuinter in Europe.  So let me sum this up - we needed the taxpayer funded solar power to prevent man-made global warming.  Europe is experiencing one of its worst winters on record.......I guess solar power worked.

Most Small Business Sector Facing Higher Taxes Under Obama Plan

Under their plan, the 33 percent rate will rise to 36 percent, and the 35 percent rate will rise to 39.6 percent automatically in January. These rates affect families and small business owners earning at least $200,000 per year.
A majority of small business profits will face a tax rate hike under the Obama-Pelosi-Reid plan.

Time for a change people. For the last 40 years we have averaged around 36% of GDP which I always said was way too much. Choose wisely, elections have consequences!  We have to get back or we are done.

Hey what's with the stimulus?

You may be wondering, like me, where is all the stimulus money we are hearing is doing such a great job for our recovery? How much is spent and how much is left? Why do we keep hearing about spending billions more on what should be already happening? Well I looked at Recovery.org to learn that $202 Billion has been "awarded" and of that, $62 Billion was "received" since it was passed until now. Knowing that the total in the stimulus pile was $787 Billion, why would we need more multi-billion dollar spending bills for stimulation? According to Recovery.org the lions share, $585 Billion is still not "awarded" so it is not stimulating. Also $140 Billion of what has been "awarded" has not been "received" so it too is still not stimulating. So if you are thinking these people want to stimulate our economy, why do you think they only let out $62 Billion so far? Why do you think they are talking about other jobs bills even though they are still not stimulating with $725 Billion already passed over 16 months later? Something is not right. They care, they are working hard on this recovery, and according to them it is working as planned with only 8% of the funds "received".

Scott Brown Crosses The Aisle On Bogus Jobs Bill

Not that I had any say in the election of Scott Brown but I had read the rumblings that he was not as conservative as everyone believed.  I know it is only one vote but it seems we may have another Olympia Snow on our hands.  Do they really think anyone believes the bull that the extension of unemployment benefits and highway projects (going to government union contractors no doubt) is a jobs bill?
What happened to pay as you go?  What happened to laser like focus on creating private sector jobs?
